Doug Garner has been nominated for the Volvo for Life Award whose winner will be determined by an Internet vote. Click here to vote. People can vote as many times as they want between now and February. Winner gets $50,000 for their charity of choice, and he plans to give $5,000 or so to Jr. Rollin’ Razorbacks and the rest ($45,000) to NWBA Junior Division. Let’s do what we can to “get out the vote!”

Every year Wendy’s awards a High School Heisman Award to a high school senior. Applications are available by clicking here or through high school principals and guidance counselors. The award honors high school females and males who excel in sports, academics and community service.
We need to get some of our kids applying for this award! Wouldn’t it be great for a disabled athlete to be in consideration and even win this very prestigious award? They do a big banquet and really make a big deal about it. Please let our deserving high school seniors know about this award. I think this would be another great step in the acceptance of wheelchair athletes as true athletes and representatives of their schools, communities and families!
