Grants for Girls Sports Teams & Clubs

In a partnership between the GoGirlGo Ambassador Program and the Women’s Sports Foundation, there will be 20 team grants for $2500 for girls sports teams and clubs. The GoGirlGo! Ambassador Program is an initiative of the Women’s Sports Foundation to get One Million girls physically active. The team awards recognize high school girls for taking the lead.

What can a club do in their community to win?
- host a sports “skills” clinic
- lead an after-school fitness group
- help coach/run a young girls sports team

To enter and apply for a grant, go to the Go Girl Go Ambassador Program website. The deadline for entry is February 16, 2007.

I believe that Bennett has successfully been recognized in the past for one of these grants. I hope that the Junior Division can have 5 or 6 teams considered for grants this cycle!

Cyclones BB vs Courage Center 12/16

There will be a prep & JV game against the Courage Center on Dec 16 instead of practice. We’ll play the PREP game first.

Gym to open at 11:00am, gametime at 11:30 for PREP
JV warm-up following about 12:30 and JV game to start around 1:00/1:15pm
Done by 3:00pm

Location: King of Grace Lutheran Church
6000 Duluth St., Golden Valley, MN 55422 (close to Courage Center)

Directions: Take HWY 100 to Duluth St. like you would to Courage Center.
(Duluth St. Exit is one exit NORTH of Hwy-55 off of Hwy-100) EXIT WEST ON DULUTH ST—Away from Courage Center—Follow Duluth St. past Byerlys Grocery… King of Grace church/school is located on the RIGHT, ½ mile from Hwy 100

Park in Lower lot outside of gym entrance. Make sure to bring your uniforms!
